Sara said the project engineer's estimate is approximately $5.5 million and that the district plans to fund the work with general-fund dollars and seek reimbursement via a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Sara cautioned that federal environmental review documents and USDA concurrence must be in place before the district can advertise the project. Committee members asked about sequencing and loan coordination; staff said they are scheduling follow-up with USDA in early January and that they will not go to bid until USDA coordination and any procurement conditions are resolved. Sara recommended the item for consent and the chair placed it on consent.
