Committee backs cybersecurity investments, hears AI and password-management policies for consent

About 90,000," the staff member said when asked about the grant request, noting those funds would help offset consultant and software costs for cybersecurity and disaster recovery work.
Brian, the district's IT lead, presented the AI-in-the-workplace memo and password-management policy and said both items are on the consent calendar for approval. "The district had developed a policy to find the parameters and guidelines for the responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI in the workplace," Brian said, and he described password-management guidance, MFA rollout and retention software as part of the new spend reflected in the draft budget.
