Rachel Pokorny elected chair of Richardson ISD School Library Advisory Council

On the council’s first order of business Alejandra Saiz nominated Rachel Pokorny for chair and called for a vote. After a second, members voted aloud; "So the motion passes," Saiz said after members verbally recorded their votes and the chairship was filled unanimously.
Saiz reiterated the chair’s responsibilities: lead meetings, call votes, ensure committee work aligns with SLAC’s charter, and coordinate agendas with district staff. By statute the chair must be a parent of a student enrolled in the district and not be employed by the district.
