Klamath County School Board approves letter of support for Klamath Irrigation District grant

The Klamath County School District board voted 5–0 to provide a letter of support to the Klamath Irrigation District for a project behind Henley School Complex intended to reduce risk to students and potentially add renewable energy components.
At the Sept. 19 meeting the board voted unanimously to provide Klamath Irrigation District (K.I.D.) a letter of support for a project adjacent to the Henley School Complex. John Rademacher moved the motion and Jill O'Donnell seconded; the motion passed 5–0.
Assistant Manager Jaxsen Sikorski told the board K.I.D. is preparing a grant application for improvements behind Henley that would reduce risk to students and staff and could include renewable clean energy elements. Board member Marc Staunton said he would be supportive and that the district should coordinate with local partners; city and tribal letters of support were anticipated.
