County expands $1,300 service-credit pay adjustment to detention staff and all law enforcement

Human Resources Director Tiffany Bowyer returned to the board seeking approval to expand a recently approved service-credit adjustment that had applied to law enforcement. "Today, I'm here just requesting approval to expand this to all of law enforcement and the detention center, and this would be contingent upon funding availability within the law enforcement budget and as the sheriff sees fit," Bowyer said. The board moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote (5–0).
The board's action authorizes the personnel-change expansion in principle; implementation will depend on available funds in the law-enforcement budget and the sheriff's determination of eligibility and timing. No specific schedule or cost estimate for the countywide implementation beyond the per-five-year $1,300 figure was provided at the meeting.
