Opportunity Center posts high completion rates; Family Resource Center expands services including upcoming daycare tenant

The Cascade Opportunity Center reported strong diploma completion (39–42 completers in recent cohorts) and community partnerships; the Family Resource Center said it helped 83 families (154 students) this year and plans to host a private preschool/daycare tenant in district space.
The board heard two reports on alternative-education outcomes and family supports. Miss Thompson, director of the Cascade Opportunity Center, highlighted individualized programming and student success: she said 39 of 40 and 42 of 49 students completed their high school diplomas in recent counts and noted industry partnerships and therapeutic programs that supported students.
Miss Harmon, director of the Family Resource Center, reported the center engaged 83 families and 154 students this year and logged more than 500 family contacts. She said the center leveraged $1,931 in direct requests into $9,291 of assistance through coordinated community resources and volunteers. Harmon also reported that a privately operated preschool/daycare will rent space in the family-resource building; capacity and licensing details are not yet finalized.
Both presenters credited volunteers, school staff and community partners for the outcomes and asked the board to continue supporting space and integration of services that help students and families.
