Board appoints Patty Taylor to fill vacant seat

The Cascade School District Board of Education voted to appoint Patty Taylor to the board vacancy in position number 2 and immediately administered the oath of office.
A resolution to appoint Taylor ‘‘to complete John Ramey’s current term that expires 06/30/2027’’ was read, seconded and approved by voice vote. After the chair declared the motion carried, Taylor recited the oath of office: "I, Patty Taylor, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States, the constitution of the state of Oregon, and the laws thereof, and the policies of the Cascade School District." The board welcomed Taylor and moved on to other agenda items.
The appointment came early in the meeting after the board said both applicants brought strengths. No public comment was recorded on the appointment. The next regular meeting will include budget work as the board prepares for decisions this spring.
