Superintendent says convocation paused amid staff reductions; plans legislative advocacy

After review she said the district will pause its traditional convocation event for the upcoming back-to-school season to "reevaluate costs and explore what the next iteration of this gathering might look like," citing staff capacity concerns tied to recent budget and staffing reductions.
Tracy also said she will focus advocacy in the coming legislative session on short-term fiscal supports to address immediate operational pressures and on long-term structural changes to education funding. "My advocacy this year will be focused on both short term solutions to address fiscal and operational pressures, as well as on long, longer term systemic, changes to fix foundational structures of education funding and support," she said.
