Board approves change to directory information policy to add grade-level and school attended as opt-out items

The policy presenter explained the tradeoffs and counsel's advice: "Most recent school attended initially was struck out, but now has been said, yes," the presenter said, noting counsel found that adding the item would not violate the OAR. The presenter also said counsel thought litigation was unlikely but the safest move would be to include grade level as an explicit opt-out item at registration. The board moved to approve Policy JOA with the inclusion of item 12 (most recent school attended) and approved the motion by voice vote.
