The Gresham-Barlow School Board re-held its officer elections during a July 14 special work session and elected Holly Riegelman as board chair for the 2026–27 school year.
The special session followed a prior, now-invalid vote that the board said resulted from a quorum-versus-majority procedural problem. Winnick, who opened the meeting, explained the purpose was to correct the earlier, illegitimate vote. "This was a procedural snafu that comes down to quorum versus majority," Winnick said.
Board member Sean moved to elect Holly Riegelman as chair; Brenna seconded the motion. After the board conducted a voice/hand-count vote, Winnick announced the motion carried and that Holly would serve as chair for 2026–27. "Moved by Sean, 2nd by Brenna to elect Holly to serve as board chair from 2627," Winnick said while announcing the motion and vote.
The session included brief procedural confusion about virtual hand-raising for votes; the board shifted to verbal confirmations and then recorded the outcome. The board immediately proceeded to consider the vice chair position following the chair election.
