Planner outlines Comprehensive Plan timeline, Board schedules another open house

Jarrett Lash, Upper Merion Township planner, told supervisors the Township has worked on the Comprehensive Plan since January 2024 and "hopefully will adopt this Fall." The document organizes statutory elements—Housing, Movement, Land Use, Community Resources and Facilities, and Natural Resources—and includes a separate section on Historical Resources and a codified future Land Use Map.
Lash asked supervisors to review the packet before the next meeting and suggested one more open house to walk residents through key actions before the Board makes a final decision and forwards the plan to the County. Supervisor Greg Philips proposed an open house in late August or early September to improve turnout; Vice-chair Bill Jenaway offered safety information he said he will provide to help finalize the Safety Section. The Board did not take formal action on the plan at the workshop.
