During the consent-agenda debate, the board recorded two successive motions concerning the volleyball head-coach appointment. A motion by Jeff Stangler, seconded by Gary Michael, to remove Crystal Lamont as head volleyball coach passed 7–0. Immediately afterward, a motion by Jon Bakken, seconded by Brenda Heuss, to approve Crystal Lamont as head volleyball coach also passed 7–0, restoring the appointment.
