The Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School Board voted unanimously on July 13, 2026 to approve a resolution relating to new referendum revenue authorizations and to call a special election. The motion to approve was made by Michael Anderson and the roll call recorded Yay from all seven board members: Michael Anderson, Barb Sherman, Ben Jacobson, Luke McGregor, Linsey McMurrin, Shannon Pfeiffer and Keane Johnson; Nay 0.
The referendum item had been tabled earlier in the meeting (motion to table recorded in the minutes) before the board returned and approved a new motion to place the referendum question before voters. The board also approved a consulting proposal from Todd Rapp Consulting to provide 2026 referendum services (separate motion; approved 7-0). The actions create a formal pathway to ask district voters to consider new revenue authorizations and fund the campaign and outreach work through an external consultant.
