Board approves first readings of multiple policies and votes to skip December meeting

Board members also considered the scheduling of the December meeting. Chair Bret Uptmor noted that "last year the Board did not have a December Board Meeting, the idea being that the Board goes to holiday concerts instead." Vice Chair Blackaby moved to not have a December 2024 Board Meeting; Director Stringer seconded and the motion carried with all present voting yes.
Both actions were procedural: the policy items were approved only on first reading and will return for subsequent readings as required; the calendar change will remove the board's regular December meeting from the 2024 schedule.
