District reports progress, $69,000 spent on softball field construction

Director of Facilities Bob Bennett told the Board the district’s softball field work is ongoing: "dugouts are completed, but we still need to install bases. Sprinklers have been installed and the field is pretty much leveled," he said, and added that the backstop and concession-stand materials remain to be completed.
Bennett reported the district has spent about $69,000 to date on the project and said the district is tracking costs and planning fundraisers led by Fran Holcolm to help finish outstanding items. The administration hopes the field will be playable by next year and will continue to report progress to the Board.
