Ontario school board hires construction manager for Aiken Elementary expansion

The Ontario School District Board of Directors voted to hire CM Company as construction manager and to engage A & E Company to design the planned expansion of Aiken Elementary.
Superintendent Nicole Albisu told the board the district "has started to plan for Aiken expansion and we hired CM Company, they have been our partners for a while now," and said the design from A & E will return to the board for approval at a later meeting. Director Matt Stringer moved to approve the hiring; Vice Chair Mike Blackaby seconded the motion. Chair Bret Uptmor, Vice Chair Mike Blackaby and Director Stringer voted yes and the motion carried.
Board members discussed next steps for design and outreach but made no additional commitments beyond approving the construction manager and designer. Albisu asked staff to return with A & E's design and cost information at the next meeting. The board’s formal action authorizes district staff to proceed with the CM and A & E engagements as planned.
