Commissioners approve DSS energy-outreach plan and subsidized childcare policy

Joe Sampson of the Department of Social Services presented two items: the fiscal year 2026–27 energy outreach plan and a subsidized childcare assistance program policy that had already been reviewed and approved by the state. Sampson said there were no changes to the energy outreach plan from the prior year and emphasized that the childcare policy prioritizes placement for vulnerable children. "This child care assistance program policy... it has already been prereviewed by the state and approved," Sampson said.
Both items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners thanked staff for the work and accepted the plan and policy as presented; no roll-call tallies were recorded.
