Superintendent Aaron Duff told the Milton-Freewater Unified School District board on Nov. 17 that current enrollment is 1,544 students, a figure consistent with the district’s budget assumptions.
Duff said facilities staff are preparing for winter weather—ordering ice melt and blowing out sprinkler systems—and reminded the board that school Thanksgiving lunches will be served Nov. 20 and members are welcome to help serve. He also presented OSBA election choices and stated that Janet Millar will submit the district’s votes; Don Miller moved to cast the district ballot for Nichole Schott (Board of Directors, Position 2) and Jose Aparicio (Legislative Policy Committee, Position 2), and the board approved the motion unanimously.
Board members agreed there is no scheduled meeting in December unless urgent business arises; the next regular meeting is set for Jan. 12, 2026, at Freewater School.
