Trustees approved a resolution authorizing pay for nonexempt employees who could not report to work during the district closure for inclement weather on Jan. 9–10. Ms. Wines, who presented the resolution, explained the emergency operations team worked during the closure and that paying those nonexempt employees is permitted under local policy. "On January 9th and 10th, the district was closed due to the inclement weather," Wines said, and the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
The board also considered TASB local policy update 1‑24, which incorporates changes from the recent legislative session and administrative code adjustments. The presenter summarized eight local policies affected—including personnel and finance changes, federal grant guidance, ownership of copyrighted materials created within the district, and policies on non‑tobacco nicotine products on school property—and trustees approved the updates by unanimous voice vote.
