The board voted to award roofing contracts for Vernon Elementary and Bailey Middle after staff presented seven bids and a ranked evaluation of proposals.
Facilities staff reported that Vernon’s roof is being replaced due to hail damage and is being covered through insurance, while Bailey Middle’s roof reached the end of its useful life. The tabulation showed a low combined bid from Texas Roof Management for $2,700,000; staff said Texas Roof Management also completed the district’s previous two roofing projects and scored highest on non-price evaluation criteria.
After discussion, a motion to award both projects to Texas Roof Management passed on an aye vote. Facilities staff indicated the work would take place in summer 2025, pending funding and scheduling.
