Royse City ISD celebrates elementary and middle school science fair winners

The Royse City ISD board opened the meeting with awards for student science fair participants, highlighting more than 100 elementary projects across seven campuses and top middle-school winners.
Tayla Wallace, who introduced the winners, told the board, "This year we had over a 100 projects throughout the 7 elementary schools turn in projects just because they were curious science minds who love figuring things out." Wallace called forward students who placed first through third in categories from kindergarten through eighth grade and asked families to join for photos.
Wallace and staff thanked volunteer judges, including advanced high-school science students coordinated by Angela Rouse, and recognized school coordinators by name. The district noted that 35 elementary projects advanced to the district fair and that middle-school finalists were selected through multiple rounds of judging. Board members applauded the students and staff and invited families to celebrate after the meeting.
The recognitions were part of a broader set of student- and program-focused acknowledgments at the meeting, including GT and enrichment teams that placed regionally in the CFMA Stock Market Game.
