Board approves amendments to Expanded Learning contracts with RISE and Sunshine Day Camp

Assistant Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent Joshua Randall told the board the district planned to amend term lengths and scopes of services in existing agreements for Expanded Learning Opportunity Program services. He said the services provided by RISE After School Programs, LLC and Sunshine Day Camp are "uniquely trained, experienced, and qualified" to deliver these services and that Government Code Section 53060 exempts the agreements from competitive bidding.
The Board approved Resolution R-25-06 (RISE) and Resolution R-25-07 (Sunshine Day Camp) by roll-call votes of 5-0. Randall said the amendments adjust duration and scope to better serve district needs; the transcript records roll-call ayes from Mrs. Weinstein, Mr. Chase, Mrs. MacDonald, Mrs. Jellings and Mr. DeFigueiredo.
