Vice President Catherine Field moved and Ms. Tangela Oliver seconded to approve the employment of five paraprofessionals for the 2025–2026 school year, pending clear criminal background checks. The hires approved were Elwyn Smith (Student Supervisory Aide, Carbondale Middle School), Tamren Pierce (Instructional Aide, Parrish School), Jane Cooper (Math Interventionist Aide, Lewis School), Jaclyn Stamps (Instructional Aide, Lewis School) and Margaret Schissler (Instructional Aide, Carbondale Middle School). "Field moved, seconded by Oliver, Recommend approving the employment of the following paraprofessionals for the 2025-2026 school year, pending a clear CBI," the minutes state.
The roll call vote listed all five members present — Oliver, Cawthon, Field, Hunt and McHenry — voting yes; two members, Greer and Major, were absent. The approval takes effect for the 2025–2026 school year, subject to the pending background checks noted in the motion.
