The Sulphur Springs Union School District Board on Feb. 26 approved a tentative agreement with the Sulphur Springs District Teachers' Association that includes a 1% ongoing, on-schedule salary increase effective July 1, 2024, and a 1% one-time off-schedule payment. District officials said the settlement aligns with salary adjustments approved for other bargaining units this cycle.
Assistant Superintendent Jay Greenlinger presented the agreement and related memorandum summaries to trustees; Board President Denis DeFigueiredo opened a public hearing on the agreement and AB 1200 compliance at 7:46 PM but said there were no written or verbal comments. The Board approved the agreement by voice vote, recorded as unanimous on the minutes. The district characterized the action as consistent with prior increases for certificated and supervisory staff and noted the one-time payment is based on the January 17, 2024 salary schedule.
