Board sets timetable for new Skyline Ranch attendance boundaries, schedules public hearing April 30

Deputy Superintendent Joshua Randall told the board that projected enrollment from the Skyline Ranch community is sufficient to support a new school and that proposed attendance lines were drawn to keep most students within walking distance. He said busing would be provided primarily for students who require transportation as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Randall said the district collected community input through council meetings and reported "overwhelmingly positive" feedback on the proposed boundary plan. The board was told the next steps are an HOA meeting, a public hearing and a formal resolution at the April 30, 2025 meeting, with implementation scheduled for July 1, 2028.
Board members asked questions about facility utilization, projected transfers, and how the new lines would interact with neighboring school attendance. President Denis DeFigueiredo and other trustees indicated support for additional outreach before the April public hearing.
