Albisu reported a city waterline break at Ontario High School that forced the school to send students home around 8:30–9:00 a.m.; the city repaired the line the same evening. "This did not affect any other schools, other than OHS," she said, and the district provided a no‑school day for affected students.
Separately, Albisu told the board that COSA representatives discussed procedures if federal officials arrive at schools. She said Oregon is a sanctuary state and that school administration has been advised to refer such visitors to the district office. "We just want to reassure our families that our schools are a safe space," Albisu said. Director of Federal Programs Anabel Ortiz‑Chavolla added that counselors are prepared and informational guidance is available for families who are concerned.
Board members discussed posting guidance online; Albisu said the district can make the information available on the district website and that board members may be signed up to receive notifications for such incidents.
