District reports mid-year gains in math and reading fluency

District Math Coach Steve Wyborney presented comparative results for kindergarten through sixth grade and said the 2024–25 results show steady improvement from 2023–24. "For grade four, this is the highest scores that the grade has ever had," he said while noting the Math CFA assessment instrument is consistent year to year though standards coverage varies across the curriculum.
Early Literacy Coach Christi Swan presented reading and comprehension data that identify students at risk and track fluency improvements such as increased words-per-minute. Swan described the measures the district uses to monitor progress and target interventions for students who need additional support.
Board members did not move policy changes based on the reports at this meeting but received the data as part of the district’s regular accountability monitoring.
