He said the leased space will free up classrooms at Glenda Arnold to accommodate all pre‑K students without adding portable classrooms and that the lease contains an option to extend for an additional year at fair market value and a first right of refusal if the district has not built a second early childhood center.
The motion to authorize the superintendent or CFO to execute the lease passed 4–0. Staff said Jim and the facilities team will begin readiness work immediately after execution.
