Royse City ISD trustees voted to adopt the district operating budget for the 2025-26 school year and approved the required accelerated-instruction budget component. Byron Bryant presented the budget based on current law while noting that HB 2 changes are pending TEA interpretation; the board plans an amendment next month once TEA templates and revenue estimates are available.
Bryant said the district recommended general-fund appropriations of $122,540,005.40, student nutrition appropriations of $5,256,710, and debt-service appropriations of $32,082,214. He also reported the district expects "a little over $6,200,000 in accelerated education funding" and documented appropriations of roughly $3,400,000 to meet the 55% spending threshold. The board additionally approved adding Tara Trainum and Ashley Bustos as authorized representatives for the Lone Star investment pool to maintain continuity for fund transfers. All budget and related motions passed 5-0.
