Board accepts nearly $100,000 in gifts including $70,120 for White Rock Elementary

Mr. Pate listed four gifts over $5,000 submitted for board approval: Mohawk Elementary PTA ($11,212.62), the RISD Council of PTAs ($8,866.67), Stultz Elementary PTA ($5,900), and White Rock Elementary PTA ($70,120), which together totaled $96,099.29. He also reported six smaller gifts under $5,000 totaling $3,103.14, bringing the month’s total to $99,202.43. “We have 4 gifts over $5,000 submitted for board approval,” Mr. Pate said as he introduced the report.
The board moved to approve the gifts; the motion was seconded and passed 6–0. Trustee Rachel McGowan and others praised PTAs and volunteers for supporting schools amid budgetary constraints. The district said photos from recognitions and donor acknowledgements will be posted on district communication channels next week.
