Board President Chris Potín called the February meeting to order and led the pledges before opening a lengthy recognition segment that named student finalists, campus teachers of the year and community partners from Glenn Partners and the City of Richardson.
"Muchas felicidades," Potín said as he introduced honorees including Abby Cárcabell, Abby González and Alexa Huerta and National Merit finalists such as Max Rudale Mount of JJ Pearce. The board also recognized 12 campuses for Explorer awards and several teachers who recently earned national board certification. Potín asked winners and partners to join the superintendent for photos following the recognitions.
The recognitions covered campus‑level awards, regional grants and two North Texas Impact grants described in the presentation. Several trustees and staff thanked parent groups, PTAs and coordinators; the board emphasized that the awards help highlight instructional practices and community partnerships. The meeting then transitioned to regular business after the photo opportunities.
