Beaufort County announced the upcoming state accommodations-tax (ATAX) grant cycle for fiscal year 2026-27 and said applications will be accepted from eligible organizations seeking funding from the 2% state accommodations tax.
"Attendance at a state a tax grant workshop is mandatory for all applicants," the bulletin said, specifying that each applicant organization must have at least one representative attend a required workshop at 9 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the Beaufort County Council Chambers, 100 Reebotte Road in Beaufort. The anchor said applications submitted by organizations that do not attend the required workshop will not be accepted for review, and that the application window closes at 5 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2026.
