Chesapeake council approves FY2025 carryover appropriations totaling roughly $2.14 million

The manager read the items into the record: $1,632,825 to Public Works for vehicles and equipment; $154,897 to Human Resources for wellness initiatives; $250,000 to the Mosquito Control Commission for an amphibious vehicle; and $106,682 to Central Fleet for health and safety improvements. Council adopted the amendments as presented by an 8–0 recorded vote.
The measures transfer funds already in the city’s fund balances into department operating budgets so those departments may complete projects and purchases carried forward from FY2024.
