Pendleton board narrows 2026–27 priorities, seeks measurable metrics for goals

Superintendent Michelle Jensen told the board that three priority goal areas rose to the top in prior sessions: High Quality Learning Environment (vision, student experience, community expectations), Instructional Excellence (learning expectations and accountability), and Organizational Excellence (systems and stewardship). Jensen said board feedback from small‑group work would be used to draft goals for a June work session led by Mike Scott.
Matt Yoshioka, the district's Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, provided a brief context on the metrics the district already uses and suggested potential additional measures to track progress. Chair Beth Harrison asked members to continue submitting ideas and to be prepared next month to adopt meaningful, realistic, and measurable goals for the coming year.
