Superintendent Aaron Miller reported to the board that he will meet with Gary Burns to discuss expanding a district shipping container of emergency supplies — currently intended for district students — into a broader community resource. Aaron said the district already stores emergency supplies for 2CJ students and is exploring a community-level approach.
Miller also said he submitted a COPS grant intended to contribute to facility upgrades and that the district is considering a future bond; he emphasized a bond would require significant community buy-in and a long-range facilities assessment before application. He reminded board members that OSBA elections are open and noted South Coast ESD's legislative road show scheduled for Oct. 30.
