The Port Orford-Langlois School Board unanimously approved a cooperative sponsorship with Myrtle Point for football and baseball at its Aug. 19 meeting. Superintendent Aaron Miller explained that staying partnered with Bandon School District would push teams into OSAA 3A because of participation numbers, which factored into the district’s recommendation to join with Myrtle Point instead.
Bob Brown moved and Korinn Hockett seconded the motion to approve the co-op; all board members voted yes. The board recorded that students will need to provide their own transportation to Myrtle Point and that families and athletics staff should be notified so logistics can be arranged before the season begins.
