Students recognized for integrity; OMS and OHS students report activities

The board opened its Feb. 24 meeting with student reports and a series of "Student of the Month" recognitions emphasizing the trait of integrity.
Ontario Middle School student Santiago Oviedo reported the school will begin a chocolate-bar sale after spring break and thanked Vice-Chair Mike Blackaby for a donation toward the school's Shakespeare production. At Ontario High School, Joanna Anguiano-Cisneros said her ASB term has concluded and announced Dana Hernandez as the incoming public relations officer; she also reported FBLA students returned from a regional conference with strong results and NHS held a silent auction to fund a senior day at Wahooz.
Administrators recognized individual students from Alameda Intermediate, Aiken Elementary, May Roberts Primary, Ontario Middle and Ontario High for integrity; named honorees included Evelyn Lazo, Gregory Guerro, Evelyn Meskill, Ariany, Upton Hess, Eileen Juarez, Santiago Oviedo, Tahlia Kokkeler, Alayna Carbajal, Adamaris Cerezo-Perez and Jack Holly. Each presenter cited classroom behavior and examples of honesty, responsibility and leadership.
