Ontario School District board approves superintendent evaluation and 2025–26 calendar

The Ontario School District Board of Directors unanimously approved the 2024–25 superintendent evaluation and the 2025–26 school-year calendar during its Feb. 24 regular session.
Administrative Assistant Andrea Salazar said she will work with Chair Bret Uptmor and Vice-Chair Mike Blackaby to release a press statement regarding the evaluation. Director Matt Stringer moved to approve the superintendent evaluation; Vice-Chair Blackaby seconded and the motion passed with Uptmor/Blackaby/Stringer voting yes.
On the calendar, Superintendent Nicole Albisu said the district made only minor adjustments — for example, moving certain holidays that fall on weekends — to ensure the correct number of student days. Director Stringer moved to approve the 2025–26 calendar and Vice-Chair Blackaby seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also agreed to move the March meeting to March 31, 2025, after noting the fourth Monday in March falls during spring break.
