The North Wasco County SD 21 School Board unanimously approved Resolution 24-25-06, transferring appropriations within various district funds. The motion was made by Director John Nelson and seconded by Director Dayna Wynn-Elledge; board minutes record the action as: "Motion by Director Nelson, seconded by Director Wynn-Elledge to approve Resolution 24-25-06: Resolution Transferring Appropriations within Various Funds as presented. Motion Passed Unanimously."
Chief Financial Officer Randy Anderson said final audit materials were being completed and "the final pieces of the audit are expected to be returned to the auditors tomorrow, and it’s likely they will date their report then." He told the board the auditors cannot attend the next regular meeting because of a scheduling conflict, so Anderson will present the audit and management-letter items to the board at that time.
Anderson also reminded the board about the State School Fund "safe harbor" provision, noting the district will not receive less funding than the prior year if enrollment falls, but that recognition of enrollment gains often arrives after the school year has concluded. The board did not modify the resolution during discussion and moved the item to a unanimous vote.
