The Royse City ISD board voted 6–0 to delegate authority to the superintendent to negotiate and finalize a purchase and sale agreement with Ally Acquisitions LLC for approximately 137.351 gross acres located in Rockwall County (the Ellis property).
Byron (S12) explained that the district purchased the tract several years ago for potential campus use and that the proposed data‑center project — if it proceeds through city and developer approvals — could add substantially to the local tax base. "This type of data center could add anywhere from 1 to $2,000,000,000 worth of value to the tax rolls," Byron told the board, noting the many regulatory and construction steps that must occur before closing and that the agreement contains protections that would revert the land to the district if the developer cannot proceed.
Trustees said the potential new tax base would help the district maintain construction programs and could ease pressure on tax rates over time. The board approved the resolution to begin the negotiated process and start the multi‑year steps that would be necessary for closing and construction.
