Town officials approved two related IT items for the senior center: replacing a nonworking DVR and installing a new router/access point. Supervisor Ricard told the board the old DVR had failed and asked to declare it surplus; the board later accepted a $748 quote from Cary Security Solutions LLC to replace the unit (motion passed with one abstention).
Ricard also presented an ITC quote for a new Ubiquiti router, an access point and a UPS for the senior center. He cited parts cost of "$1,023.15" and said the town would also pay an hourly labor rate; the board moved, seconded and approved the router and access-point installation. The purchases are intended to restore TV and Wi-Fi reliability at the senior center.
