Freetown board approves Sept. 1 primary warrant and sets early‑voting schedule

The Freetown Board of Selectmen on Aug. 3 approved the state primary warrant for Sept. 1 and accepted a schedule for in‑person early voting, Town Clerk and chief election official Cheryl CA Estrella told the board.
"In person early voting will take place here in this room at the community room here at the, Freetown Police Station. Saturday, August 22 from 9AM to 3PM," Estrella said, adding that early voting would then continue Monday through Thursday during town‑hall hours and a final Friday session on Aug. 28. Estrella also reminded voters that the town includes two separate representative districts on the ballot for some voters.
The board made the adoption of the warrant a formal motion and voted in favor with no objections. The town clerk said the warrant lists all offices to appear on the Sept. 1 ballot and that standard posting and notice procedures will follow. The schedule, she said, complies with state law requiring in‑person early voting one week before a primary and two full weeks prior to the state election in November.
The board did not raise any procedural objections and asked the clerk to proceed with signatures and public posting. The clerk will also coordinate poll staffing and logistics with town departments as needed.
