Deputy Engineer Matt Rogers told the Erie County Commissioners that American Structurepoint has been selected as the design firm for the Campbell Street/Strub Road roundabout. Rogers said the design contract is expected to cost approximately $344,000 and that the County Engineer's Office will handle right-of-way acquisition.
Rogers and County Engineer Eric Dodrill said the design firm had been asked to develop multiple design options because of constraints in the project area. Staff said Phase 1 design work will start this summer, with construction tentatively anticipated in 2028 after required environmental review and right-of-way acquisition. Commissioners and staff noted that, so long as the project proceeds on schedule, Erie County stands to retain federal funding allocated through the Ohio Department of Transportation for the project.
