Volunteer effort removes about 150 pounds of black swallowwort at Bluff Point

Olsen said about 25–26 people participated and that the teams removed roughly 150 pounds of plant material through hand removal; volunteers also received a training component before field work began.
Commissioners praised the organization and stewardship staffing for the event and noted that the work was concentrated on state property where hand removal (no power tools) was required. The commission highlighted the value of combining removal with public education and said the stewardship team is now fully staffed for future efforts.
