Splendora ISD board approves $8.97 million in financials, athletics donation and easement

The Splendora Independent School District Board of Trustees on Aug. 19 unanimously approved the consent agenda that included minutes, financial reports and accounts payable totaling $8,974,167.00. The motion to approve these items was made by Dan Muirhead and seconded by Brandon Fry; the board recorded six votes in favor and none opposed.
The consent package also authorized Budget Amendment No. 1, accepted a $3,000 donation from the Athletic Booster Club earmarked for an additional hydration station, and approved granting Entergy Texas, Inc. a servitude and right-of-way easement on the new junior high school site. The board additionally set a new date of Sept. 9, 2024 for the 2024–2025 tax-rate public hearing and approved annual renewals and personnel-related items included in the packet.
