Board appoints Kassawna Knoll to fill Zone 7 vacancy

The Silver Falls School District 4J board appointed Kassawna Knoll to fill the Zone 7 vacancy on Monday after interviewing seven applicants. The seat was left open by the resignation of Tom Bucchol and will carry through June 2027; Knoll received five votes to one and is scheduled to be sworn in at the next meeting.
Chair Phil Wiesner explained the selection process and said applicants were called in alphabetical order for interviews. The final vote was recorded with Directors Daniel Cote, Phil Wiesner, Derrick Foxworth, Sarah Dalisky and Josh Ort supporting Knoll; Director Wally Lierman voted for Bryan Starr. The board set the swearing-in for the next regular meeting.
