Council awards $42,500 contract to resurface tennis courts, adds pickleball lines

The Coralville City Council approved a $42,500 contract on June 9 to clean, repair and resurface four tennis courts and to add striping for eight pickleball courts.
Parks & Recreation Director Sherri Proud presented bid results showing a range from $42,500 to $91,715 and recommended awarding the work to Pro Track and Tennis of Elkhorn, Nebraska. "They have funds set aside in Fiscal Year 2026 and 2027 and in the reserve fund to accomplish this project," Proud told the council as staff recommended moving forward.
Mayor Laurie Goodrich noted the change will be popular with local pickleball players. The council adopted Resolution No. 2026‑94 to accept proposals and award the contract. Staff said references from other cities, including Iowa City and West High School, supported the contractor recommendation.
