The committee discussed the timing and term length for the chair and vice chair and agreed to align future transitions with the city council’s annual December changes. After some discussion about term lengths and readability, a committee member moved to schedule the chair switch in December; the motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor.
"I move that we move in December to switch chairs," said one committee member; the motion was seconded and the chair called the question. The committee voiced 'aye' and approved the decision to target the December meeting for leadership turnover. Committee members asked that the outgoing and incoming chairs prepare a handoff for the February presentation of the annual report so the prior chair can comment on the previous year and the new chair can present the priority for the next year.
Members also proposed making the committee’s meeting schedule more regular (5–6 meetings a year) to reduce ad hoc scheduling and asked staff to provide budget breakdowns for prioritized projects at the next meeting.
