Staff gave a sequence of short construction and maintenance updates: most playground mounds already removed, one remaining wave-themed mound will be removed and replaced within the next two weeks, and customized bench brackets for the Park Lane seating area are in a shop being galvanized with installation expected to begin around July 20.
Chris, the staff member overseeing installation details, said galvanized bench brackets should return from the shop the following Thursday and that installation could take one to two weeks once started. Committee members also said handrail repairs are nearly complete on McLean Lane and described scoping needed near Bayview Avenue where private utilities and an adjacent fire hydrant complicate railing replacement. The committee asked staff to post signage if lanes are improved and to consider aesthetic and stability improvements when coordinating neighbor utility relocations.
