Silver Falls board approves updated SRO contract with shorter replacement notice

On Sept. 22, 2025, the Silver Falls School District 4J board unanimously approved an updated School Resource Officer (SRO) contract. Director Wally Lierman moved to approve the contract and Director Daniel Cote seconded; the motion passed with Daniel Cote, Sarah Dalisky, Derrick Foxworth, Wally Lierman, Josh Ort and Phil Wiesner voting in favor.
Superintendent Kim Kellison told the board that the updated contract had been sent to the city and that the only substantive change was to reduce the replacement-notice period from 30 days to 10 days so the district would not be charged if a replacement were needed. The board did not record additional changes, and no public comment was offered on the item. The board's approval completes the district's internal action; the contract will proceed through any external steps the city requires.
